Firstly Welcome to Connected Hypno & Birthing…

As a privately practicing midwife with endorsement, I can offer continuity of care that supports women to make informed choices, to feel safe and respected and to birth with confidence - wherever and however they choose. I am here to walk alongside you in this journey while offering professional, evidence-based guidance personalised to your unique individual needs.

About Nikki

‘Connection’

“A relationship in which a person or thing is linked or associated with something else”. This is the meaning I wanted behind what I have to offer and the inspiration for calling my business Connected Hypno & Birthing. To me the journey of giving birth is about the connection; with oneself, with your body, your mind, your energy, your baby, your birth partner, your care providers, your family, your friends, your community. I want to help and support women and their families, to establish their village, by sharing knowledge, wisdom, love, support, tools, techniques, evidence, to feel prepared, strong, empowered, positive and more connected.

Philosophy

Private midwifery is continuity of care — means you will see the same midwife throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postnatal period. I believe in providing women and their families with evidence informed information and education so they can make an informed decision that is right for them. A client is the decision maker in the relationship, no coercion, professionally informed but supported as I will support them in their choice and decisions. I believe in and respect natural, physiological birth. I believe in individualised unique care as no two pregnancies are the same. I believe in collaboration and working with other health providers to provide safe care when needed and desired.

Continuity of care with a midwife - This model of care has been shown to improve outcomes, reduce intervention, and help women feel safer, stronger, and more supported.

Experience the comfort, safety, and empowerment of birthing in your own space — with expert midwifery care by your side every step of the way.

Services

Care with Connected Hypno & Birthing is always individualised and unique to each woman so there’s no set number of appointments — they are tailored to the right amount of support for each client and their care. That can look like regular check-ins or a more flexible schedule. This is created together to a plan that suits a client’s needs. I don’t want to rush anyone and I want them to feel heard.

FAQ

Can I have a homebirth with you?

Yes, if you are clinically suitable. We can assess this together with thorough discussions and planning.

What if I need to transfer to hospital?

I work with local hospitals and can refer you if needed. If a transfer occurs, I continue to support you during the process as a support person.

What if there is an Emergency?

In the event of an emergency, both midwives that are required to be present at a home birth in SA, are trained to respond quickly and appropriately, with clear plans in place for safe transfer to hospital if needed.

Are your services covered by Medicare?

Yes — eligible women have all antenatal, postnatal and telehealth appointments bulk-billed. The Labour and Birth fee does not have a Medicare rebate- Yet!

Can I access care even if I don’t want a homebirth?

Absolutely. Many families choose private midwifery care for pregnancy and postnatal support only.

How many appointments will I need?

That depends on your needs — some women want monthly visits, others more often. You’re in control.

What will it cost?

Private midwifery is an investment in your care and wellbeing. I offer payment plans and flexible options. Detailed fee structure provided upon enquiry — transparent, upfront, no surprises.
